Duo nabbed for alleged syabu possession in Johor Baru


ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police have arrested two men for possessing drugs believed to be syabu at Jalan Silat Lincah, Bandar Selesa Jaya.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said the suspects, aged 25 and 26, were apprehended during routine surveillance by the Motorcycle Patrol units on Sunday (May 5).

“The two were in possession of a transparent packet that contained a drug believed to be syabu, weighing 0.38g.

“The duo were arrested under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for possessing and consuming drugs,” he said in a statement here on Monday (May 6).

ACP Kumarasan added that background checks of the two suspects also revealed that the duo had prior criminal records.
