Tamil school with only nine pupils facing closure

SJK(T) LADANG Mados in Ulu Tiram, Johor, is on the verge of closure, as it currently has only nine pupils, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The school’s Parent-Teacher Association chairman Vasugi Vellaisamy said four pupils had left because of transportation problems.

She said the school’s wooden buildings also underwent inspection by the Public Works Department and were found to be in poor condition.

Termite infestations are causing further problems.

The presence of lorries transporting sand along the route to the school has also resulted in a dusty environment.

The school had been asked to apply for new land to relocate to nearby Taman Universiti.

She said the application was completed last year but there has been no confirmation on the matter so far.
