Human Resources Ministry welcomes Anwar's RM30mil grant for Indian youths' skills development programme

PETALING JAYA: The Human Resources Ministry (Kesuma) welcomes Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s announcement to provide RM30mil for grants to implement the Malaysian Indians Skills Initiative under Kesuma-Mitra.

Its minister, Steven Sim Chee Keong, in a Thursday (May 2) statement, said the funds would be channelled to skills improvement programs for Indian youths

The programmes would be led by the Human Resource Ministry, through HRD Corp, in collaboration with the Finance Ministry and the Malaysian Indian Community Transformation Unit (MITRA).

“This initiative will emphasise training in critical areas to meet the industry's and the country's needs. This is in line with Kesuma's aspirations, which aim to improve employees' welfare, skills, and success,” said Sim

He added that more information about the training programs under Kesuma-Mitra will be announced soon.
