Two nabbed for refusing to cooperate at roadblock

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested two men for failing to cooperate at a roadblock.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said the arrests were made on Tuesday (April 30) after the duo prevented policemen from performing their duties at a roadblock in Jalan Pandan Indah here.

At around 11.45am, two motorcyclists were stopped at the roadblock. One of the two then tried to run away but hit a policeman on duty there.

"This led to the suspect losing control of his motorcycle, causing him to fall down.

"A second suspect who was stopped did not cooperate with police when told that a body search was to be performed, preventing them from discharging their duties," ACP Azam said in a statement on Wednesday (May 1).

The two, aged 27 and 38, were then arrested and found to have expired licences.

Further checks found that they both had police records.

"The first suspect had 12 priors while the other had two. Both have been remanded until Friday (May 3)," he said.
