Unity govt to discuss allocations for Opposition

KUCHING: The demand for allocations by Opposition MPs will be discussed in the Unity Government Leadership Council meeting on Wednesday.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof (pic) said this followed his meeting with Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin and Bersatu secretary-general in Parliament on March 19, Bernama reported.

“In the meeting, the Opposition said they wanted allocations and any condition was up to the government.

“I have informed them that this matter will be brought to the Unity Government Leadership Council for us to present what they want,” he told reporters at his Hari Raya open house here yesterday.

The meeting with Fadillah was also attended by Opposition chief whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, who is the PAS secretary-general, and Beluran MP Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee, a Bersatu vice-president.

On March 24, Fadillah was reported to have said that there was no draft agreement related to demands for allocations by Opposition representatives as claimed by Perikatan Nasional leaders following the meeting.
