Motorcyclist crashes into divider, dies after being flung into river in Johor

ISKANDAR PUTERI: A 35-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a road divider, and he was flung into the river at Jalan Sungai Danga here.

Iskandar Puteri, acting OCPD Supt Ibrahim Mat Som, said the incident occurred on Saturday (April 6) at 6am when the victim was heading towards Nusa Bestari.

"The victim was passing through the Sungai Danga bridge near a petrol pump station and was believed to have lost control of his motorcycle and crashed his bike into the road divider.

"He was then flung into the river; the victim suffered injuries to his body and was pronounced dead at the location," he said in a statement here.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated case, Supt Ibrahim informed that a 35-year-old man was killed after crashing his motorcycle into the back of a car at Jalan Nusa Perintis.

"The incident occurred on Friday (April 5) when the victim was heading towards Nusantara from Kota Iskandar at 1.15pm.

"The victim crashed his motorcycle on the left side of a car that was stopping at a traffic light intersection.

"The impact caused the victim to be flung and hit another two cars that were also stopping at the traffic light," he said, adding that the victim suffered a serious injury to the head and was pronounced dead at the location.

Both cases were being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act of 1987.
