All bank workers in Sarawak to receive festive aid this year

KUCHING: Bank employees in Sarawak will get between a half-month and one month salary in festival aid this year.

This came after the Sarawak Commercial Bank Association (SCBA) reached an understanding with the Sarawak Bank Employees Union (SBEU) during their ongoing collective agreement negotiations.

"Following discussions facilitated by the Human Resources Minister (Steven Sim), banks agreed to make the payment before Hari Raya," SBEU chief executive officer Andrew Lo said in a statement on Thursday (April 4).

He said all bank employees regardless of their faith will receive the payment.

"SBEU expresses its appreciation to SCBA and its member banks and the minister," Lo added.
