Seven new faces among 20 political secretaries to S'wak premier sworn in


KUCHING: Seven new faces were among the 20 political secretaries to Sarawak Premier who took their oath of office before Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here Monday (April 1).

Subis District Council member Hajis Japar Labaw was among the new faces appointed to the post apart from Dominic Nyurang Ajang, Watson Awan Jalai, Collin Patan, Afiq Fikri Brahim, Thomas Balan Bang and Joshua Ting Fu Ying.

The other 13 individuals comprised Petrus Igat Mathias, Sarkawi Suhaili, Romeo Christopher Tegong, Fridah Osman, Dayang Nurfizawati Abang Abdul Karim and Susan Clement Ingun.

Also reappointed were Abdul Samat Kethergany, John Nyigor, Damen Rejek, Sayed Azmee Wan Junaidi, Awangku Jinal Abedin Pengiran Jawa, Fung Kok Shiun and Niponi Udek.

The appointment of all political secretaries among the component members of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) comes into effect from Monday for a period of two years.

The swearing-in ceremony was also witnessed by Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian as well as several state Cabinet ministers. - Bernama
