PETRONAS donates drinking water


KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s scorching weather has left many districts in dire need of drinking water.PETRONAS has stepped in with 6,736 cartons of water for the Sabah State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) to distribute to drought-stricken districts in the state.

The national oil company’s Sabah and Labuan regional office general manager Siti Ayu Abdul Wahab said in a statement: “We wish to complement the efforts being undertaken by disaster relief agencies.”

She said this after handing over the items to SDMC secretary Datuk Awang Shahminan Datuk Awang Sahari.

Awang Shahminan is secretary of State Home Affairs and Research Office in the Chief Minister’s Department.

Siti Ayu further said the initiative underscored ongoing efforts made by PETRONAS to engage in social impact activities and contribute to the well-being of communities in the state.
