A TAMIL school in Ulu Tiram, Johor, is facing a double whammy of termite infestation and dust pollution from lorries transporting sand, reported Malaysia Nanban.
SJK (T) Ladang Mados board chairman Chandra Selvam said the school, which used to be known as Ladang Sungai Johor, was located near a sand quarry.
“The lorries plying the route kick up dust that covers the entire school.
“An inspection by the Public Works Department also found extensive termite damage.”
State executive councillor K. Raven Kumar, who visited the school recently, promised to help find a new location for the school.

At a special fundraising dinner, Pappamma Subramanian, who used to live in the former Yukong Estate where the temple is located, said she decided to donate RM50,000 after discussing the matter with her children.
