KOTA KINABALU: A man was detained after police found 16 imitation firearms in his house in Sabah’s east coast Lahad Datu district.

A team from the state Criminal Investigation Department’s (CID) special investigation (D9) unit made the discovery after raiding the house at Bandar Sri Perdana at about 10.30am on Thursday (March 21).

Sabah CID chief Senior Asst Comm Azmi Abd Rahim said his men seized, among others, seven fake rifles and nine imitation pistols.
