ACTRESS Bella Astillah (pic) has denied claims that she was behind the arrest of her husband, actor Aliff Aziz, and actress Ruhainies for khalwat (close proximity), Harian Metro reported.

Bella, 30, said she was surprised by such allegations.

“Why would I come up with such a plan? I am surprised myself. Everyone knows I am on good terms with the actress (Ruhainies). You can check with Jawi (the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department),” she said.

Bella said it was best for her to move on and that she was unperturbed by online comments.

On March 9, Aliff, 33, and Ruhainies, 32, were detained by Jawi officers at a condominium in Kuala Lumpur.

Bella has since filed for a divorce, but Aliff did not show up during the filing due to filming commitments.

Bella and Aliff got married in September 2016 and have two children.

> An elderly man was left outside the Seri Permai welfare home for the elderly in Taman Tas, Kuantan, Sinar Harian reported.

Its manager Mohamad Fauzi Ramli said he was disappointed with the action of the person who had left the 72-year-old man in front of their gate.

He said the elderly man, who is disabled, told the home that he was sent by someone there.

“I was not around when the man was sent here.

“Upon returning, I saw this uncle outside the door of the welfare home.

“The man told me he was driven to the home by someone who then left,” he said.

Mohamad Fauzi added that the person, believed to be the man’s son, should not have abandoned the elderly man but should have discussed the matter with the home instead.
