Water supply in parts of Penang to be affected after production reaches maximum capacity

GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) has issued an alert notice after its water production reached maximum capacity on Saturday (March 16).

The alert notice was posted on its Facebook page at midnight.

"Please be informed that PBAPP water production has reached maximum. However due to high water consumption and reduction in water levels, the pump houses along Sungai Ara, Batu Maung, Teluk Kumbar and South Seberang Prai will be affected," the notice said.

The notice also said the situation may cause low pressure or no water in the Lebuh Relau, Jalan Kelabu, Sungai Ara, Batu Maung, Bayan Lepas, Balik Pulau and South Seberang Prai areas.

PBAPP has advised the public to use water wisely and updates on the situation will be given from time to time.
