Muda not joining Perikatan roadshow

PETALING JAYA: Muda will not participate in Perikatan Nasional’s nationwide roadshow.

Reiterating its stand to function as an independent third force, Muda said its decision is final.

“We would like to issue a firm reminder for all not to overstep the party’s decision-making authority by issuing statements.

“This will only be made through the party’s official channel,” it said.

Muda said it will continue with its role to provide checks and balances in Malaysian politics. At a Perikatan Nasional convention on March 9, its chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the coalition would hold a nationwide “Jelajah PN” tour to learn about the woes and concerns of the people.

It was also reported that Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman was expected to join the tour as an “ally to the coalition”.

In response to this, Syed Saddiq, who is the co-founder and former president of Muda, said the tour is not organised by Perikatan, calling it a multi-partisan “people’s tour” instead.
