87 nabbed in raids on illegal JB massage parlours

JOHOR BARU: Police have raided 22 illegal massage outlets in the city and arrested 87 people, mostly foreigners.

Johor police chief Comm M. Kumar said the raids on Saturday (March 9) were carried out at premises suspected of hiring foreign workers without permits.

"We arrested 68 foreigners and 19 locals, where 65 of them are women. They are aged 22 to 64,"” he said in a statement on Monday (March 11).

The suspects were arrested for vice, immigration and local government offences, he said, and placed under remand to aid in investigations.

Comm Kumar said police also seized condoms, lubricants, massage oil, tissues, towels, work schedules, log books, mobile phones and RM8,789 in cash from the outlets.

He urged those with information on illegal activities to contact the police via the state hotline at 019-279 2095 or 07-221 2999.
