Body of missing man believed to be attacked by crocodile recovered in Tawau


KOTA KINABALU: A man, who was reported missing after searching for clams with two of his family members here in Sungai Kalabakan on Saturday, was found dead on Sunday morning.

The body of Asmadi Harun, 57, was found by villagers at Kg Mangga in Kalabakan at 4.30am, about 500 meters away from the location where the victim was reportedly missing.

It was believed that he had been mauled by a crocodile.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said police had sent the victim's body to the Tawau Hospital for post-mortem.

He said the search operations were called off at 10.45am following the recovery of the body at Ulu Kalabakan River.
