RM1.935bil allocated for electricity subsidies in Peninsular M'sia for first half of 2024, ministry says

KUALA LUMPUR: The government has allocated RM1.935mil in electricity subsidies for consumers in Peninsular Malaysia for the January to June 2024 period, says the Energy Transition and Water Transformation Ministry.

The Ministry said the subsidy is given to minimise the impact of a rise in the global prices of fuel used for power generation.
