“DEEP state officers” in government ministries should be weeded out immediately, says Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.
“Yes, there are (such officers). That is why I suggested that ministers take action against these officers who sabotage government policies,” the Kinabatangan MP said yesterday.
He had been asked by Mohd Sany Hamzan (PH-Hulu Langat) if there were deep state officers in the civil service.
Earlier, Bung Moktar defended the action taken by Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing to remove Datuk Dr Ammar Abd Ghapar as Tourism Malaysia director-general.
“If there are non-performing officers, they should be transferred out,” he said.
“I would transfer them out... and place them in a position where they will not meet anyone.”
Bung Moktar also said as the minister, Tiong had the right to act against non-performing officers.
