Standing tall: KL named as city with most skyscrapers in Southeast Asia


KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur has been named as the city in Southeast Asia with the most skyscrapers, with 241 buildings taller than 150m in total.

Jakarta (165) and Bangkok (142) took the second and third spot, respectively, claims data released by Seasia Stats on its Instagram account.

Out of a total of 35 cities, 10 cities in the country made the list, with Penang and Johor Baru ranking sixth and seventh, respectively, while Petaling Jaya emerged 14th with the most skyscrapers.

Other cities were Bentong in Pahang and Melaka, listed at 20 and 21, while Cyberjaya, Shah Alam and Subang Jaya were in the 23rd, 24th and 25th spot, respectively.

Rounding out the list of Malaysian cities were Putrajaya and Kota Kinabalu in 28th and 30th spot, respectively.

The data takes into consideration the height of buildings with Kuala Lumpur the only city in South-East Asia home to six buildings over 300m tall.
