Doctor nabbed for molesting female employee at clinic in Negri

JEMPOL: Police have detained a 36-year-old doctor of a private clinic here for allegedly molesting his female employee.

Jempol OCPD Supt Hoo Chang Hook said the 24-year-old victim, who only started working for the doctor about a month ago, lodged a report regarding the alleged incident at about 6pm on Feb 28.

"The victim, who works as an assistant at the clinic, claimed that the incident happened at an employee resting room after working hours on Feb 24.

"She also claimed that this was the second time the suspect had molested her," he said, adding that the first allegedly happened on Feb 19.

Supt Hoo said the incident left the victim traumatised, and she eventually told her family members about it. A report was then lodged.

He said police have since recorded statements from several witnesses to assist the probe.

"The suspect was detained around noon on Thursday (Feb 29)," he said.

The suspect has been remanded for three days to assist in the investigation.
