Baby accidentally fed syabu by mother discharged from hospital

PETALING JAYA: The baby hospitalised after his mother accidentally fed him syabu-laced milk has been discharged, says Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulnizam Jaa'far @ Ismail.

When contacted, he said that the one year and four-month-old baby was discharged on Saturday (Feb 24) from the Kajang Hospital.

"He was discharged from the Kajang Hospital after making a recovery. The baby is now under the care of his maternal grandmother," he said, adding that the Welfare Department has not stepped in yet.

When asked about the parents who were arrested after they were found to have mistakenly mixed their baby's formula milk with liquid methamphetamine while high on drugs, ACP Shahrulnizam said that no drugs were found during their arrests as they had already been thrown out.

The couple were arrested on Tuesday (Feb 20) in Taman Medan after the wife accidentally mixed liquid syabu into a milk bottle.

Both tested positive for drugs after their arrest with the man having previous drug-related offences.
