PEOPLE in Tamil Nadu are demanding the arrest of a man who tried to kill his mother by pushing her into a large hole, Makkal Osai reported.
The victim, identified as a 73-year-old woman from Kumari, has two sons who are said to be in the middle of an inheritance dispute. A few days ago, the woman was apparently taking a shower behind her house when her older son confronted her.
He was reported to have suddenly pushed her into a nearby hole, leaving her unable to get out.
He then grabbed a large stick to beat her, but before he could do so, the younger son’s wife confronted him while recording the incident, causing him to leave.
The older woman reportedly had to be admitted for treatment.
The daughter-in-law posted the video on social media, where it went viral and raised demands for action from local authorities.
