Promotions, transfers for many senior cops


KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa is set to be the next city police chief.

According to police force secretary Deputy Comm Alzafny Ahmad, DCP Rusdi would be promoted to the rank of Comm once the transfer takes place effective March 25.

In a statement yesterday, DCP Alzafny said among those being transferred included Federal Narcotic Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Kamarudin Md Din who will take over as the Federal Internal Security and Public Order Department director.

“Penang police chief Comm Datuk Khaw Kok Chin will take over as the new NCID director.

“Federal NCID deputy director (property forfeitures, legislation and detention) Deputy Comm Datuk Hamzah Ahmad is also set to be promoted to the rank of Comm when he takes the post of Federal Internal Security and Public Order Department deputy director (operations),” he said, elaborating that deputy Penang police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad will be transferred to Bukit Aman as he takes the Federal CID deputy director’s (investigations and legistlation) post.

He said Home Ministry Crime Prevention Board member Senior Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din will be promoted to Deputy Comm as he assumes the Federal NCID deputy director (property forfeitures, legislation and detention) post.

Meanwhile, Bukit Aman Sexual, Women and Children Crime Investigation Division (D11) principal assistant director Asst Comm Siti Kamsiah Hassan will be promoted to the rank of Senior Asst Comm.

Sungai Buloh OCPD Supt Shafaaton Abu Bakar will be promoted to the rank of ACP once she takes over as the Perak Police Management Department chief.
