Jakim-YWM's Musa'adah fund pools RM14.5mil in Palestine aid


PUTRAJAYA: Department of Islamic Development Malaysia -Yayasan Waqaf's (Jakim-YWM) Musa’adah Fund for Humanitarian Aid Mission to the Palestinian People has collected RM14.5mil since it was launched last October.

Jakim's corporate communications unit said in a statement on Thursday (Feb 22) that the collection has been submitted to the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar at a ceremony held on Thursday.

"This donation will be channelled to the Foreign Affairs Ministry and also Islamic non-governmental organisations recognised by the government to be delivered to the victims of war in Palestine,” said the statement.

It said the fund is the result of contributions from various parties consisting of the Islamic religious authorities of the states, namely the state Islamic religious councils; state Islamic religious departments; agencies in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs); corporate companies and the public.

The Jakim-YWM Musa’adah Fund, which was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Oct 13, reflects the solidarity of Malaysians to help Palestinians who are victims of the Zionist regime’s atrocities. - Bernama
