KOTA KINABALU: Two teenagers were killed when their car crashed as they fled from a chasing Road Transport Department (JPJ) patrol car.

Three others in the car were injured in the accident in Sipitang here after the driver lost control of his vehicle during the pursuit.

Sipitang district police chief Deputy Supt Mail Sundongi said the 19-year-old teenage driver and a 14-year-old girl in the rear passenger seat died on the spot.

The car ended up in a ditch along Jalan Sabah Forest Industries after the accident at about 5.10pm on Wednesday.
