SAR ongoing for Tuaran man who went missing near river


KOTA KINABALU: A search and rescue (SAR) operation is ongoing for a mentally disabled man who went missing while cutting grass near a river in the Tuaran district.

The 42-year-old was said to have gone out of his house to trim grass along the river in Kg Tengkoringan on Saturday (Feb 10).

He has failed to return home after three days, Sabah Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Hamsa Isnurdini said on Tuesday (Feb 13).

“We received a call about a missing person at 1.40pm today and a search has been mounted," he said in a statement.

It was not immediately known why the man's family waited three days before informing the authorities.
