PETALING JAYA: There was an air of festivity among Perikatan Nasional leaders who gathered at Gerakan’s Chinese New Year open house in Kuala Lumpur.

Gerakan president Datuk Dr Dominic Lau welcomed his coalition partners to Menara PGRM.

Present were Perikatan chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Bersatu deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, Bersatu vice-president Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin, Bersatu supreme council member Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, and PAS unity bureau chairman Dr Halimah Ali.

Lau also extended the Chinese New Year wishes of PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang to all Malaysians, especially the Chinese community.

He said the Marang MP apologised that he was unable to attend due to a health condition.

Recently, the PAS leader was admitted to the National Heart Institute for treatment.

Meanwhile, Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, who also attended the event, said he has always been celebrating across all political divides.

“I have been doing this almost every year where I meet leaders of all parties, not just leaders but also their families.

“I want Malaysians to realise that we can come together, and not everything is about politics. Chinese New Year is a day for unity. It is a celebration of different races and religions,” the former Muda president said when met by reporters.
