Paralysed nonagenarian dies after fire destroys shoplot in Sitiawan


IPOH: A paralysed nonagenarian was found dead in a fire which destroyed a shoplot in Ayer Tawar, Sitiawan.

The victim has been identified as 90-year-old Loo Leng Wion.

Perak Fire and Rescue department operation commander Zaki Mokhtarmin said the incident occurred at 11.41 on Sunday (Feb 11) at Kg Baru.

“When firemen arrived the double storey shoplot was on fire, and 70% of the shoplot was already destroyed.

“The victim was found at the top floor of the shoplot at about 3.35am near the door of one of the rooms,”he said.
