Ex-banker named as Hajiji’s financial adviser

KOTA KINABALU: Former banker Siaw Kok Chee has been appointed financial adviser to Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

Hajiji presented the letter of appointment to Siaw at Menara Kinabalu here yesterday.

Siaw has 38 years commercial, corporate and retail banking experience. He also has a Master of Business Administration from Charles Sturt University, Australia, as well as a BA (Hons) Finance with Accounting from the University of East London.

According to a statement by the Chief Minister’s Office, Siaw was responsible for overall performance and human resources development in Sabah and Labuan with RHB Banking Group.

During his service, he was the regional head/regional director for 20 years.

Siaw went through five bank mergers and successfully led the restructured and reorganised Sabah and Labuan region.

Among them are D&C Bank Bhd and Kwong Yip Bank Bhd; RHB Bank Bhd and Sime Bank Bhd; and RHB Bank Bhd and OSK Bhd.
