PUTRAJAYA: It was bumper to bumper along a 3.35km span of the boulevard here with the longest vehicle formation in conjunction with the Federal Territories’ 50th anniversary celebration.

Made up of sedans, supercars, motorhomes and even motorcycles, the formation at Dataran Putrajaya landed a spot in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for the longest vehicle formation with 644 vehicles.

Putrajaya Corporation president Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud said the event was held in conjunction with Federal Territories Day on Feb 1.

“It involved private vehicles and those belonging to various associations and the government.

“The vehicles involved flew the Federal Territories’ flags as a sense of pride, in addition to expressing their love and affection for the Federal Territories,” he told Bernama during the four-day Putrajaya Open Day yesterday.

Earlier, Federal Territories Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa received the MBOR recognition certificate from MBOR officer Siti Hajar Johor.

The number of visitors to the open day had reached 200,000, exceeding the initial target of 50,000. Federal Territories Day is celebrated on Feb 1 annually to commemorate the declaration of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan as Federal Territories.
