Five-year-old pillion rider killed, three other injured after car hits motorcycle near Bagan Serai


IPOH: A five-year-old girl died while three others sustained injuries when a car hit a motorcycle the four were on in Bagan Serai.

The three injured are a 32-year-old woman and two boys aged 14 and seven years old.

The girl died while receiving treatment at the Parit Buntar Hospital.

Fire and Rescue Department operations officer Faiezaruddin Mohd Yusop said the accident occurred on Tuesday (Jan 30).

He said the department received a distress call at 9.41pm.

“The accident occurred along Jalan Alor Pangsu-Kg Matang Jelutong.

“A car driven by a man had hit the back of the motorcycle that the woman was riding with the three children.

“Due to the impact, the motorcycle skidded and landed inside a drain,” he added.

He said when firemen arrived, the three children were sent by ambulance to Parit Buntar Hospital, while the department’s vehicle took the woman to the same hospital.

“We received information from the hospital that the five-year-old girl died at the hospital,” he said.
