Rescuers and Kinabalu Park officials placed the victim on a stretcher at Panar Laban.
KOTA KINABALU: A Taiwanese man who fell on his descent from Mount Kinabalu was brought down safely by mountain rescuers.
Mountain Rescue and Search (Mosar) spokesman said the 58-year-old climber was brought down safely using a Robinson Stretcher.
The victim suffered swelling to his hip after the fall and was handed over to waiting paramedics at the Timpohon Gate, the base of Mount Kinabalu at about 2.10pm on Tuesday (Jan 30).
The spokesman said that the victim was taken by an ambulance to the Kundasang health clinic for further treatment.
The Mosar team was assisted by the two mountain guides and four Sabah Park rangers in the operations.
The Taiwanese man, identified as Tsai Wen Jui, reportedly slipped at Panar Laban (3,272m) area of the mountain trail while on his way down from Low's Peak (4,095.2m) at about 10am.
Mosar is a rescue team formed under the Sabah Fire and Rescue Services Department.
