Four nabbed, ganja and heroin seized in KL and Kajang raids

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 27kg of ganja and 48g of heroin have been seized in raids in Jalan Kampung Pandan and Setapak here, as well as in Kajang.

Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah said the roads were conducted on Wednesday and Thursday (Jan 17 and 18).

"We detained four men aged between 23 and 47.

"The raids were conducted at various locations, including a condominium in Kajang," he said in a statement on Friday (Jan 19).

One of the suspects tested positive for ganja, he added.

Initial investigation showed the syndicate involved has been active for six months, Supt Ashari said.

"We also seized assets belonging to the syndicate worth RM110,200 including two cars, jewellery and cash.

"The drugs seized were worth RM85,400.

"We are still investigating the source of the drug supply.

"The suspects have been remanded until Jan 24," he said, adding that the drugs seized could have been supplied to 27,141 addicts.

"We urge those with information on any criminal activity to contact the KL police hotline at 03-2115 9999 or the nearest police station," Supt Asahi added.
