Dr Wee distributes wheelchairs, beds to five surau in Johor for community use

YONG PENG: A total of 10 hospital beds and 10 wheelchairs have been given to five surau here, which will then be lent to those in need of it.

Ayer Hitam MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said the equipment was distributed to surau committees in Kampung Paya, Taman BCB, Taman Mewah, Kangkar Baru and Taman Kota.

"Each surau will receive two beds and two wheelchairs. We found that many patients only need them for short-term use, like going for hospital visits. This way, more people can benefit from the equipment," the MCA president said after handing over the items at the Jalan Lama multi-purpose hall here on Sunday (Jan 14).

He added that it would be up to surau committees to coordinate and lend the equipment to the community.

Dr Wee also urged those in need to get in touch with their respective surau for help.
