GOMBAK: A man has been detained for molesting a 13-year-old boy at a house in Batu Caves.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the 41-year-old man was detained after the boy told his parents, who lodged a report at about midnight on Saturday (Jan 6).

"The teenager was walking home at about 10am on Friday (Jan 5) after buying nasi lemak.

"The suspect offered the victim a ride on his motorcycle and brought him to a rented house some 700m from the boy's home.

"He was allegedly molested by the suspect there," ACP Noor Ariffin said in a statement on Tuesday (Jan 9).

He said the victim left the house after the suspect gave him RM20.

"We detained the suspect at about 1.50am on Sunday (Jan 7), and he has been remanded until Friday (Jan 12)," he added.

He urged those with information to contact investigating officer Insp Faris Nur Shuhaini at 017-3166051 or Gombak police headquarters at 03-61262222.
