High-ranking GLC manager arrested over transport contract given to husband's company


PUTRAJAYA: A high-ranking manager at a government-linked company has been arrested for using her position to appoint companies which her husband has an interest in, to carry out transportation jobs worth about RM300,000.

It is learnt that the suspect, said to be holding the post of head of operations, was arrested at about 2pm on Tuesday (Jan 9) when she was at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's Selangor office to record her statement.

Sources said that based on investigations, the suspect, who is in her 40s, is believed to have committed the offence in 2022.

It is alleged that the company owned by her husband was appointed as a transport subcontracting firm and about RM280,000 was banked into the suspect's personal account.

Selangor MACC director Datuk Alias Salim confirmed the arrest.

He said the MACC would apply for a remand order at the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court on Wednesday (Jan 10).
