Selangor MB’s temple visit delights residents

HINDU residents in Selayang were delighted when Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari visited the Sri Ramar Temple recently, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The Selayang Baru temple’s paal kudam (milk pot offerings) procession for the new year celebrations attracted many people.

Amirudin, who attended the celebration, visited the two-storey temple building before handing out hampers to lucky raffle draw winners.

He also presented aid and prizes to underprivileged Malaysian-Indian students selected by the temple committee.

Temple committee chairman Tamil Selvan and trustee M. Pushpakaran said this year’s celebration was bigger than ever.

The central government has been working with states to supply water to every household under the National Rural Drinking Water Programme.
