Four injured in Sungai Way factory blaze


PETALING JAYA: An electrical fire at a factory in the Sungai Way Free Industry Zone has injured four people.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail, when contacted, confirmed the fire, adding that an electrical transformer had caught on fire there.

Firefighters reached the scene at 6.07pm following a distress call.

“The fire then spread to nearby buildings,” he said.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said that the fire was successfully extinguished at 7.23pm.

“The four injured victims have been sent to the Shah Alam hospital by ambulance. The fire has since been extinguished and overhaul works are currently being conducted,” he said.
