Probe into a motorcycle theft led police to recover four stolen bikes


KUALA LUMPUR: Investigations into a stolen motorcycle has led police to recover four more machines that were reported stolen following the arrest of four suspected thieves.

In a statement on Saturday (Dec 30), Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said a complainant told police that his motorcycle, which he left at a parking lot in Kampung Tasik Permai here had gone missing on Dec 26.

He said the complainant could not find his motorcycle at around 9.30am and after a brief search, he came to a conclusion that the machine had been stolen.

"Police arrested two men and two women, aged between 28 and 49, in Jalan Bukit Kemunting Batu 8, on suspicion of theft around 1.25am on Dec 29.

Three of the suspects have a total of 34 criminal records,” he said.

ACP Mohd Azam said from the suspects, police also seized four motorcycles, which were later found to had been reported missing in Ampang, Serdang and Sepang areas.

Investigations showed that the group was involved in stealing motorcycles parked in the open over the past three months.

All the suspects have been remanded for four days, until Jan 1.
