UTM's alumni association holds fundraiser for its student endowment fund

KUALA LUMPUR: Universiti Teknologi Malaysia's alumni association (PAUTM) organised a fundraising dinner for the association's endowment fund on Saturday (Dec 16) night, which will help sponsor students in need.

MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, who attended the event, said eligible students would receive a scholarship worth RM30,000 per person for four years of study.

"Almost 500 UTM alumni were in attendance at the fundraising dinner," said Dr wee in a post on Facebook, adding that the event was held at the grand banquet hall of the Kuala Lumpur UTM Hotel and Residences.

"Tonight was very meaningful as we were able to catch up with many old friends," he said.

The UTM vice-chancellor Datuk Dr Ahmad Fauzi Ismail officiated the event and also presented the PAUTM Honorary Figure Award 2023 to some of the prominent attendees.

This included Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Kamarulzaman Mat Salleh, Health Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zaini Ujang, Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MCMC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.
