BEING the only two teams at the inaugural girls’ football competition for Tamil schools did not dampen the spirit of pupils from SJK (T) Segambut and SJK (T) Ldg Bukit Jalil from showcasing their talents, Makkal Osai reported.

The competition was organised by the Kuala Lumpur Indian Football Association (KLIFA) and was held at the Segambut school’s sports field.

KLIFA deputy chairman, identified as Annadurai, said they were happy with the event despite the low participation.

He said they would continue to host the event and hoped to attract more teams.

Malaysian Indian Football Association (Mifa) deputy president K. Rajendran and the headmaster of the host school presented medals to players from both teams.

The two teams will also participate in the Mifa Beyond national under-12 football tournament for girls and boys to be held at Kopa Arena, Penang, on Dec 23 and 24.
