PETALING JAYA: Malaysia wants the Loss and Damage Fund, a financial package where rich countries pay a damage cost to developing nations vulnerable to climate change, to be overseen by an independent body.
Replying to questions ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Dubai – the COP28 – Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad (pic) said this is to ensure that the fund does not become a tool of political influence.
