Malaysian-born actress Mimu Chu set to call it a day


RETIREMENT is on the cards for Malaysian-born Hong Kong actress and singer Mimi Chu, Sin Chew Daily reported.The 69-year-old declared that she wanted to go out on her own terms and not be forced to retire at her worst.

“I already have many years under my belt. I feel that one should live to be happy, and not crash out at the end.

“I’m thinking of retiring ... I don’t want to play anymore!” she said during a recent episode of The Sheng Siong Show.

When interviewed later, Chu told the press that she was burnt out and “no longer has the desire to move anymore”.

She said her schedule for the rest of the year is fully packed and it includes concerts in Singapore, Macau and Hong Kong.

“Too many jobs and it’s too tiring for me,” she added.

Chu was born in Ipoh and lived in Singapore before moving to Hong Kong.

He was unconscious and lost a lot of blood from the injury in his groin.

Fortunately, he is reportedly in a stable condition now.
