SJK(T) Dengkil in Selangor was flooded again with water rising up to 1.5m causing extensive damage to the school, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Headmistress Pushpa Raman said the school was inundated following heavy rains, which began at about 9am on Sunday.

The road leading to the school was submerged, preventing any access.

The classrooms and labs were flooded causing books, teaching materials, science equipment and furniture to be destroyed.

Only a few items were recovered despite assistance from the Parent-Teacher Association, she said.

A massive flood in 2021 and the second in 2022 also caused extensive damage to the school.

The daily said a retaining wall built to prevent soil erosion by the river next to the school is suspected to have failed.
