Kelantan cops seized 16 pistols from Jan to Nov

KOTA BHARU: Kelantan police confiscated 16 different pistols so far this year compared to nine during the same period in 2022.

State police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said that of the 16 cases, 14 had been charged in court.

He said most of the seized firearms were used for drug trafficking and criminal activities.

"We will continue to cooperate and exchange information with the Thai authorities. We will tighten border controls," he told a press conference on Tuesday (Nov 7).

Muhamad Zaki also called on border enforcement agencies to watch out for the smuggling of firearms after learning that they are being bought from neighbouring countries and imported through illegal means.- Bernama
