Kelantan police on standby to face northeast monsoon

KOTA BHARU: Kelantan police personnel are ready to face the northeast monsoon, which is expected to occur in the middle of November.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Muhammad Zaki Harun said preparations were made based on last year's monsoon experience, including meetings with various agencies at the state and district levels.

"The changes in the weather at the moment indicate that the monsoon season is about to arrive, so all personnel have been instructed to always be ready, including ensuring that all assets and logistics are in working condition," he said on Tuesday (Nov 7).

"We are always ready and wait for instructions from the leadership of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and related agencies," he said, adding that preparations also involved freezing the leave of police officers and personnel.

The media reported earlier that the northeast monsoon season is forecast to occur from Nov 11 to March 2024.- Bernama
