MP upset with Rayer’s query of Harakah’s finances

MOHD Misbahul Munir Masduki (PN-Parit Buntar) was dissatisfied with RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) who questioned the finances of official PAS organ, Harakah, during the debate on Budget 2024.

Rayer had earlier said Harakah allegedly did not fulfil its payment obligations to its printers for years after it was reported to have fallen into debt.

“We are upset with Jelutong. He has continuously been bringing up topics unrelated to the federal budget.

“Enough is enough. He brought it up yesterday (Tuesday) and again today (yesterday),” said Mohd Misbahul.

He said he had told the House that he would respond to the issue outside Parliament.

Deputy Speaker Alice Lau then told him that the matter was a non-issue and ordered for the Budget 2024 debates to continue.

However, Mohd Misbahul persisted and said Rayer should retract his statement.

Lau then told him to file a motion on the matter.

“If you’re still experiencing heartache, go and see a doctor. I have already said this is a non-issue. I have made the ruling, so please sit. If you do not want to sit, leave the chamber,” Lau said.

Rayer raised the issue of Harakah’s debts on Monday when Mohd Misbahul was speaking on the topic of good governance during the Budget 2024 debate.

A news portal had quoted officials from Harakah’s former printing company criticising PAS leaders for living a “lavish lifestyle” while the company has not received outstanding payment years after it was reported that Harakah had fallen into debt.
