Terence Au named acting Warisan Youth chief

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan’s Youth vice-chief Terence Au, also the Kota Kinabalu division vice-chief, has been named to replace Mohd Ismail Ayob, who quit as party’s youth chief recently.

Au, 41, an operations officer with an airline company, was among the 12 new faces in the party’s latest youth wing leadership lineup known as Wira.

Besides him, Mohammad Firdaus Diun has been named acting deputy chief while Mohd Nazli Mohd Lan, Khairuddin Daud and Mohd Azreen were appointed vice-chiefs.

These appointments were made following a meeting on Thursday, Warisan said in a statement yesterday.

In a speech at the meeting, Au said the youth wing will give its full support to Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal and his deputy Datuk Darell Leiking to lead the party.

He said they will also work with the central leadership as well as other party wings to ensure victory in the next state election.

On Sunday, Mohd Ismail announced his departure from Warisan, a year after he took over the youth chief post.

He also quit as the party’s Kinabatangan division leader in a resignation letter addressed to Warisan secretary-general Datuk Loretto Padua.

Mohd Ismail said his decision to quit was based on personal reasons.
