Every exco member and state assemblyman has been given their respective roles to monitor in the event of a disaster," he told reporters after attending a field training exercise at North Port here on Wednesday (Oct 10).
He said the State Disaster Unit receives feedback from time to time, and is now monitoring the monsoon transition situation, with all local governments on high alert.
"God willing, we are not asking for a disaster, but if there is a flood or so on, our preparedness level is better than before and we will be able to overcome or prevent it," he said when asked about the state government's preparations regarding the matter.
"Local governments will conduct simulations from time to time, with these also monitored in detail by the state government," he said.
