Orang Asli man found dead in drain after falling from coconut tree


BENTONG: An Orang Asli man was found dead in a drain along Jalan Benus here on Sunday (Oct 8).

Bentong OCPD Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the incident occurred at around 8.55am on Sunday.

"We received information that the body of a man was found in a drain there and sent personnel to the scene to investigate.

"Initial checks revealed that the victin was a 36-year-old man identified as Jeka Gedeng," he said in a statement on Sunday.

He said the victim was believed to have fallen after climbing a coconut tree near the drain.

"An autopsy which was conducted at the Bentong Hospital revealed the cause of death to be intra abdominal hemorrhage.

"We urge anyone with infornation on the case to come forward immediately," he said urging the public to refrain from speculating on the case.
